House Tour

So, happy Wednesday? Hard to believe it's the middle of the week, but I'll take it.

Today, I'd like to take you on a little home tour. We've been in the house just over a year and we've come a long way, baby. And there's still so much to do but I'm saving the major investments and projects that I have in mind for when we buy a house. No need to buy something now and then not have a place for it in the next home, you know? This is easier said than done since I work for a home decor company. Guess you can say that it's a bit of the cobbler's son's shoes or always knowing what will be out in the market in six months??

The Living Room

The sectional has received its fair share of use in the past few years. On the other hand, it takes up the entire living room so unfortunately all of my beautiful arm chairs and chaises have been relegated to D's parent's basement until our living space can accommodate my chair problem (that I inherited from my mother).

The artwork in our house has been collected throughout the years. The top (mildly crooked) painting is by an unknown artist from the early 20th century (eBay score) and the bottom is by my great aunt.

The other side of the living room is not as exciting except for the mirror - the mirror! It was a score at the most amazing little antique store in Greenville, SC, where we once called home.

Shells from Charleston.

The family table. A little collage of keepsakes, a pic from our wedding and one of Doug's sister's wedding, all on a table from my childhood home.

Miss E, the guard dog.

Pillow party. I need some new throw pillows- but again, I'm waiting for the new house. So patience will be my virtue. (Even though I'm dying to get my hand on some of Lulu DK's new fabric.)

Some of my favorite things... Celerie Kemble, Mary Kate & Ashley (my sister and I had all the movies- don't judge), and our guest book from our wedding with awesome views of Atlanta.

Dining Room/Kitchen

Dining table needs an oversized clam shell in the middle, no? And the boat painting? That was also in my childhood home and, well, it makes me so happy to look at it every single day.

More of the boat! And see that orchid? Well, it's proving that I actually do have a green thumb somewhere in there. Maybe next year I'll tackle a fern... again. Maybe.

Isn't she a beaut?

And the kitchen. Not much to say here except to proclaim my love for Le Creuset.

BEDROOM

This room is my little work in progress. Needs color! And organization! And a new bed frame! So a quarter of the room will have to suffice for now. But I have some big plans for this room.

OUTSIDE

Love coming out here in the spring and fall, when the weather isn't too cold or too hot. It's our favorite place to dine.

D's favorite thing at the house, his egg. Table built by him and his brother. Obsessed is an understatement.

So, there's the tour in all of its small glory. Hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have!
