One Room Challenge: Week 3

Welcome to week three of the One Room Challenge! You can visit week one here and week two here. Many pieces have been delivered but the room is still a storage space with really nice floors.

This picture is deceiving. The other side of the room is crazy.

This week, I started to recover the Roman shades and it was an utter failure. The fabric on the shades was a light blue and I was trying to just cover them with a cotton duck fabric in white but they were all wrong. This was the look I was going for...

But as I said... failure.

So pelmet boxes it is. I'm going to follow Jenny from Little Green Notebook's easy tutorial here. Can you believe that she did these pelmet boxes with foam core?

Also, I purchased the ceiling fixture from Pottery Barn Teen (here) and am praying that it arrives before the end of the challenge. Hate when things are backordered, but isn't she pretty?

Still need:
  • Baskets
  • Bookshelf?
  • Window treatments
  • Art
  • Dresser
  • Chandelier - ordered
  • Glider - ordered
  • Baby
So that's it for this week. Now, go check out all the other amazing bloggers participating in the One Room Challenge on Calling It Home.

  1. The crib skirt is a lovely print! Can't wait to see it all come together!

  2. Lovely light fixture! I followed Jenny's tutorial for my daughter's nursery - super easy and they are still holding up 5 yrs later! Although next go round I will definitely used wood.

  3. Love the look of the pelmet boxes! And that fixture is a total find...looking great even if the other side is all storage at the moment!

  4. Jenny is awesome, I love her stuff! I cannot wait to see it all pulled together. :)

  5. Looks amazing! Baby M is one lucky girl!!!

  6. Awe!! Love the light fixture. That is going to be perfect in there, well worth the wait.

  7. Can I tell you how much I love that Caitlin Wilson fabric! It will be the star of the whole room!

  8. Looking forward to seeing how the room comes together.

  9. I think the pelmet boxes will be fantastic. I love that light fixture, too. This will be so pretty.

  10. Potterybarn is always on backorder it seems!! ugh...

  11. Pelmet boxes for your windows would be a big "wow" factor plus I think it will gather less dust & easier to clean than roman shades, a plus for any nursery. Love the fixture you chose, something that can 'grow old' with the space
