Bedroom Dreaming

Even though I know that the master will be the last room we touch in our home (isn't that the way it always goes?), I can't help myself from dreaming up what we'll do with the space. I'm obsessed with our master. It's massive yet cozy and calling out for some love.

I'm yearning for a neutral space with just a small pop of color with the pillows on the bed. I also know that the Circa Lauren Lamp on the dresser is a definite must. So check back and see what we do with this space... I'm thinking that I may need some more One Room Challenges in my future!

Monday Mix: Blue and White

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Let's make this Monday a little bright with some blue and white. Our back living room is coming together in these two colors and nothing makes me happier. And you know how much I love blue and white! (if you don't, see here and here.) Could there be any two better colors?

I've linked up to the blue and white party that's been put together by Jennifer at The Pink Pagoda (and the queen of blue & white)! Be sure to check it out and give some love to the other beautiful blue and white interiors there.

One Room Challenge: Week 5

Week 5. It seems like the weeks move much faster when working with a deadline. You should try it sometime.

My life these days seems to be measured in weeks, how many weeks left in the One Room Challenge? 1. How many weeks along are you? 32. How many weeks until baby girl's arrival? 8. Ay. But I'd like to thank Linda from Calling It Home for putting this little linking party together because it's forcing this girl to get her act together.

We're at the end of the One Room Challenge (catch up HERE) and my stress level is at its end too. The bane of my existence these days are companies who do not ship items and products on backorder but let's say a little prayer that everything makes it in a week.

And in the meantime, let's look at the plates. I've got a husband who very patiently hung them. He's also given up his dresser (that he's had since birth, mind you) so that this room could get organized. It was the plan all along but I've still got to admit that it's crazy that this (unborn) child of ours currently occupies the ONLY dresser we have in the house. The master may not have a dresser anymore, but we have a nursery to finish folks.

A little sneak peek. Plates make me happy. The fairytale plates were gifts from my grandma as I was growing up and fit perfectly in the design. The whole collection only includes six plates but I love the gold-rimmed edges and the detail of each one. And the white plates are from my china collection. I have many sets though–I'm turning into my mother–so could spare three of these white and gold ones.

Don't worry, even though we hung them many inches above the crib, I know that we'll either move her crib to the opposite wall as she gets older or move the plates entirely.

I'm digging the wide striped floor with the bedskirt in Caitlin Wilson's in Navy Fleur Chinoise

The curtains went up tonight. No pictures yet. And hopefully all my deliveries arrive in the next few days so that I can have an actual reveal for you next week. Saying a prayer tonight to my knights in brown (UPS) armor. I hope that I'm not the only one worried about getting everything done...?

Please stay in touch–follow me on the right via Google or Bloglovin. I'm also slightly addicted to Pinterest... and Instagram

Meanwhile, go give some love here to the other amazing bloggers participating in Calling It Home's One Room Challenge linking party. And happy Halloween! Hope you eat lots of candy today.

One Room Challenge: Week 4

Week four of the One Room Challenge is here and has brought with it some changes to the plan. Click here for the past three weeks of the challenge. If you're new here, welcome!

I love the way that things are shaping up. This room is quickly turning into my favorite in the house thanks to the family pieces and the striped floors.

If you read last week, then you know that I went with this bead chandelier. I'm still waiting for it to ship so please cross your fingers that it's here for the big reveal!

Also changing this week, I decided to go with pinch pleat white curtains instead of pelmet boxes. I think that they are going to add the softness that is missing in the room.

Also happening? Brunschwig & fils Les Touches. It's one of my all-time favorites so I'm having a pillow made for the glider.

I've also decided to keep the art to (mostly) family pieces. Growing up, my grandma started a collection of fairy tale plates for me–they are amazing pieces of art and we started hanging them this week. (We = my very patient husband)

That's it for this week. Now, go visit Calling It Home to seee all the other amazing bloggers participating in the One Room Challenge linking party!

One Room Challenge: Week 3

Welcome to week three of the One Room Challenge! You can visit week one here and week two here. Many pieces have been delivered but the room is still a storage space with really nice floors.

This picture is deceiving. The other side of the room is crazy.

This week, I started to recover the Roman shades and it was an utter failure. The fabric on the shades was a light blue and I was trying to just cover them with a cotton duck fabric in white but they were all wrong. This was the look I was going for...

But as I said... failure.

So pelmet boxes it is. I'm going to follow Jenny from Little Green Notebook's easy tutorial here. Can you believe that she did these pelmet boxes with foam core?

Also, I purchased the ceiling fixture from Pottery Barn Teen (here) and am praying that it arrives before the end of the challenge. Hate when things are backordered, but isn't she pretty?

Still need:
  • Baskets
  • Bookshelf?
  • Window treatments
  • Art
  • Dresser
  • Chandelier - ordered
  • Glider - ordered
  • Baby
So that's it for this week. Now, go check out all the other amazing bloggers participating in the One Room Challenge on Calling It Home.
